FAIRFIELDS Partners with STEMpura to Inspire Future Engineers

FAIRFIELDS has partnered with STEMpura to help inspire more young people to explore engineering, robotics and technology through hands-on STEM activities. 

The partnership will bring robotics-based STEM Days to schools near FAIRFIELDS project locations. By supporting STEM education in these areas, FAIRFIELDS aims to create a positive local impact while helping young people discover opportunities in engineering and technology.  

Inspiring future engineers 

STEMpura is a charitable organisation focused on making engineering and technology accessible, inclusive and inspiring for young people from all backgrounds. 

Through interactive STEM Days, students will have the opportunity to develop their understanding of robotics and mechatronics while tackling challenges designed to encourage problem-solving, teamwork, creativity and engineering thinking. 

STEMpura is also the UK National Organiser for the World Robot Olympiad (WRO), an international robotics competition that challenges young people to design, build and programme solutions to a range of real-world problems. The FAIRFIELDS-supported STEM Days will draw inspiration from WRO activities, with participating schools able to explore further opportunities to get involved 

Supporting our local communities 

The programme will support schools and communities in areas where FAIRFIELDS is delivering projects, creating opportunities for young people to engage with STEM in an enjoyable and practical way. 

Members of the FAIRFIELDS team will also have opportunities to get involved, sharing their experience of working in engineering and helping students understand the different routes available into the industry. 

Apprenticeships have played an important role in FAIRFIELDS for more than 25 years. Supporting STEM education within local communities complements our continued commitment to encouraging future talent and helping more young people see engineering as an exciting and achievable career. 

Through our partnership with STEMpura, we hope to give young people the opportunity to experience engineering first-hand, build valuable skills and discover where an interest in STEM could take them.
