Project Update: Taplow and Marsh Weirs Great progress across our two Environment Agency projects in Maidenhead.

Marsh Weir

All works are now fully completed, and the weir has been handed over. The team delivered key upgrades, including cylinder replacements, system improvements and essential maintenance to restore performance and long-term reliability.  

Taplow Weir

A more complex structure comprising three weir gates and three gate flaps used for water level trimming. The first gate is completed and handed over; full completion is anticipated in early 2026. Both projects were delivered on live waterways. Adjacent gates had to remain in continuous service as active flood defences, which required careful planning and close coordination throughout the works.
