Working in partnership with The University of Nottingham on FA3D2

Fairfield Control Systems are delighted to be working in partnership with the University of Nottingham’s Centre for Aerospace Manufacturing, Siemens and Evosoft to complete a portion of FA3D2 project.

The University Of Nottingham Said:

“The Future Automated Aircraft Assembly Demonstrator Phase 2 (FA3D2) will deliver a national experimental testbed and technology demonstrator in digital and informatics enabled aerospace manufacturing technologies.”

This project is anticipated to be hugely beneficial to companies in the Aerospace and wider manufacturing community by demonstrating the application of technology to increase efficiency and flexibility in high-precision manufacturing.

Using Siemens WinCC SCADA and SCALANCE Networking technologies, Fairfield’s will design and implement the IoT Network. This enables data transmission, aggregation and visualisation from different manufacturing equipment, such as Robotics, End Effectors, and Metrology systems.
