Fairfields selected for Redcliffe Road Bascule Bridge renovation.
Fairfield Engineering Solutions will be working alongside our sister company Fairfield Control Systems on the M+E package for the Redcliffe Road Bascule Bridge. Working with Cleveland Bridge UK, who have been named as the Principal contractor, we are delighted to be carrying out the upgrade, refurbishment, and replacement of key mechanical elements of the bridge. Drawing on our expertise in bridges & moving structures we are honoured to be playing a part in this prestigious multi-million-pound project.
Redcliffe Road Bridge was constructed in 1942 with a major upgrade completed in 1996. Redcliffe is a three-span moveable bridge comprising of two simply supported approach spans and a single leaf bascule span. It carries Redcliffe way across the floating harbour between Queens Square and St. Mary Redcliffe Church, Bristol. This Bridge is an iconic part of Bristol’s floating harbour and will undergo refurbishment works throughout 2021.
