This is an exciting opportunity to become a key part of our growing delivery team, as the company continues to expand across nationwide sites.

The Site Manager provides a crucial interface with the client and is pivotal in working with the Project Manager to ensure the successful completion of projects.

The Role

Key Purpose: The primary purpose of this role is to co-ordinate site activities, manage safety with respect to the CDM regulations 2015 and drive effective programme delivery.

  1. Manage the delivery of a number of sites UK wide, including a number of major and/or complex projects.
  2. Leading teams to deliver physical works within projects where required.
  3. Effectively manage relationships with external customers whilst on site, suppliers and subcontractors and provide a site-based interface with clients.
  4. SHEQ overview, management, and execution of on-site activities in line with legislation, CDM and best practise.
  5. Track project deliverables and provide regular reports to management, this will also include planning interface for progression against milestones, critical path, and project deliverables.
  6. Assist the Engineering team with the project health and safety life cycle.
    • Identify hazards and evaluate risk in all phases of the project (design, manufacture, install, construct, test, commission, operation, maintenance, decommissioning and disposal. Supported in this by the Health and Safety Department.
    • Lead occupational and process safety to the highest standard, ensuring that processes and personnel remain compliant with safe systems of work.
  7. Assist the Project Manager with commercial tracking, being responsible for delivery for designated sites.
    • Ensure that sites are run in accordance with the agreed scope and contract terms.
    • Ensure that all site deliverables are met.
    • Facilitate and run effective project review meetings.
  8. Subcontractor Management
    • Manage subcontractors on site as required.
    • Ensure that subcontractors are adhering to the scope and conditions of the subcontract whilst on site.
    • Ensure that subcontractors are working to the agreed delivery program.
    • Ensure that the subcontractors are working in accordance with the agreed quality plan and standards
  9. Site Documentation
    • Manage and maintain documentation in-conjunction with project requirement and quality management systems according to ISO9001:2015 (QMS).
    • Assist in the generation of contractual requirements such as Early Warning Notifications and Technical Queries.
    • Ensure that Compensation Events / Variations to scope and cost are generated and agreed by the client before the commitment of resource and cost.
    • Composition & review of RAMS and site registers.
  10. Assist in the development & updating of project plans and tracking schedules.
  11. Managing and motivating the site teams.
    • Provide feedback on performance and identification of development and training activities.
  12. Working to the company procedures and providing suggestions for improvement.
  13. Providing pre-sales engineering support to the Sales Department.
  14. Working as directed by the Management.

The Candidate

  • 5 years’ experience in turnkey M&E project delivery/supervision/site management
  • Core skills/Qualification Levels – Apprenticeship/HNC/HND Engineering/BSc (Preferable)
  • Mechanical and/or Structural Engineering background
  • Hold SMSTS/SSSTS certification or equivalent.
  • Conversant with CDM regulations.
  • Must be able to obtain security clearance (BPSS/CTC/SC).
  • Self-motivated and organised.
  • Solution focused.
  • A good communicator.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • First Aid qualification (Not essential but preferable).
  • Black Hat training (Not essential but preferable).
  • Confined Space training (Not essential but preferable).
  • MEWP (Not essential but preferable)
