Winners at 2016 RICS Awards

Thursday, May 5th, 2016

Fairfields were on the winning team last night at the 2016 RICS Awards‬ in London where the Woolwich Ferry Linkspan refurbishment project was awarded the prize for infratructure.

AMCO Engineering’s £9.6m project was to refurbish and upgrade the four Woolwich Ferry loading bridges, or Linkspans, and their associated hoisting and control systems. Fairfields provided the PLC System, motion control and industrial network on both ferry linkspans and on all of the ferries.

The works, completed on time and in budget, mark a significant milestone in TfL’s ongoing Life Extension Programme for the ferry service and will provide improved reliability and increased capacity.

Two of our directors, Peter McMorrow and Oliver Mangham, were there to celebrate with host Julia Bradbury and the rest of the team. Congratulations to all involved!
