Dreamland’s Scenic Railway Opens

Friday, October 16th, 2015

The Scenic Railway at Dreamland Amusement Park in Margate re-opens this week. It is a Grade II listed wooden roller coaster which has recently undergone a massive reconstruction as part of the parks £18m makeover. Many of the rides have either been restored or replaced. The Scenic Railway was painstakingly dismantled and reconstructed with the wooden elements being replaced piece by piece.

Fairfields replaced the ride control system and introduced a patented ride supervisory system which included a sequencing PLC and supervisory safety controller.

We were delighted to be involved with such a historic renovation project which maintained the heritage look of a 1920s ride whilst ensuring the ride complies with today’s health and safety standards.
